Overview: A Secure and Reliable Future for Large-Scale Enterprise Computing
As our world becomes increasingly dependent on technology, failures in
applications such as telecommunications, transportation, healthcare, and
more can be catastrophic. The Information Trust Institute is
responding by creating computer systems, software, and networks that
society can depend on to be trustworthy - that is, secure, dependable,
correct, safe, private, and able to survive accidental failures as well
as targeted attacks. Trusted ILLIAC is a key component of this effort.
Trusted ILLIAC is a 500-processor programmable hardware/software cluster being designed at the Information Trust Institute and Coordinated Science Laboratory. It
promises to make large-scale computing truly trustworthy, providing an
application-specific level of reliability and security in a transparent
manner, while delivering high performance.
This revolutionary new machine represents the latest generation of the
University of Illinois's world-renowned heritage of leadership in
large-scale, high-performance computing.
