Facilities
The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) is considered one of the world's great institutions of higher learning, and paramount among its strengths is the College of Engineering. The College has been part of the University since its opening in 1868. Since then it has become a world leader in engineering research and education, due not only to its outstanding faculty (over 400 strong), highly selective student admissions, and ability to attract research funding and partnerships with industry and government, but to its cutting-edge research facilities as well. ITI participants conduct their research in some of the finest research facilities in the nation and have access to state-of-the-art equipment both for their research and for education purposes. Reflecting the multi-disciplinary nature of ITI activities and research interests, these facilities are housed in different departments and units within the College. The Coordinated Science Laboratory recently celebrated its 50th anniversary as a premier national research facility. Its focus has evolved over time, and today it stands as one of the nation's top laboratories in information technology and telecommunications research.

Everitt Laboratory is the home of the UIUC Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. It houses administrative offices, classrooms, and instructional laboratories in addition to state-of-the-art facilities for several of the department's research groups. |

Talbot Laboratory houses the Department of Aerospace Engineering, which contains 19 individual laboratories devoted to specific topics in aeronautical and astronautical engineering.
